[HOT] 7-year journey from Framgia Code Contest to Viblo Code Contest 2020 and interesting "sample test", have you tried it?

After 5 years of operation, with its continuous improvements, Viblo has made a certain mark on the users. To start the series of events celebrating the 5th anniversary of development, Viblo has officially launched the Viblo Code Contest 2020 with the theme of Step into the Future.

From the internal to the national Code Contest

Code Contest was first held at Sun* on December 7, 2013. At first, it is built and operated by Mr. Nguyen Anh Tien (R&D Unit) and Mr. Nguyen Dang Huy (EUV1). In the early years, the Code Contest was organized to replace the weekly Seminar on Saturday at the company. Code Contest is a monthly contest of algorithm, programming. It brings a lot of excitement for (old) Framgia programmers, besides self-study hours at the weekend.

The system has been improved and updated many times after having been held internally several times. As a result, the quality and scale of the contest have also been improved, attracting a large number of participants. After holding 9 times, the Code Contest process has changed as it combines with other forms such as CTF Contest, or Game Logic to become a big and professional contest called CTF Contest (including 3 parts: Code Contest + CTF Contest + Game Logic).

From 2015 to 2016, only about 2 to 3 CTF Contests were held each year. It is because the organizers had to plan for months in order to organize a CTF Contest for the company.

After that, between the end of 2016 and the end of the year 2017, the company's internal CTF Contest format was upgraded to Code War with the participation of programmers nationwide.

In recent years, Code Contest or CTF Contest events have also held in Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City offices, giving all Sunners in the country the opportunity to access to the company’s contests.

Following the tradition, along with Viblo's 5th-anniversary event, Viblo Code Contest 2020 was born, and this time, it is open to anyone who loves programming.

Viblo Code was released in March 2019. Not just a knowledge sharing and asking place, Viblo will also aim to become a new Platform where everyone can Share, Ask, Learn, and Practice their IT skills.

Viblo Code Contest 2020

Marking the 5-year development journey as well as welcoming a brilliant new decade, Viblo will kick off a series of anniversary events with a programming contest called Viblo Code Contest 2020: Step Into The Future. The contest promises to be an opportunity for those who love technology to learn and improve their knowledge.

Technology is innovating and developing day by day, not only solving current problems but also being one step ahead of reality, discovering and solving problems of the future. Perhaps that is why in the series of events "A Journey To The Future", Viblo Code Contest is like a first step to "Step Into The Future".

The contestants are all programmers and students throughout the country.

During the contest, players will write a program segment in any language to solve the problems which are the challenges given by the organizers. Each Challenge will have a maximum number of points, which will be reduced by the time of the test, as well as the number of incorrect answers by the player. Therefore, everyone will need to try to solve the problem as quickly and accurately as possible to achieve the highest score.

Besides, to create the most favorable conditions for the contestant, the test time is calculated when accessing the system, and pressing the Start Challenge button, not the time starting the contest. Therefore, players can arrange the time to solve the test accordingly, without necessarily being there during the entire time of the contest.

What to prepare for the first contest?

To participate in a contest, we also need to set certain goals to accomplish. In particular, be carefully prepared for the mind and specialist knowledge to conquer yourself as well as the prizes.

1. Practice with the Viblo Account

This account will help people access to all Viblo services, from Viblo Code to Viblo CTF. On the  Viblo Code currently, there are many Practice exercises so that everyone can practice to be familiar with the types of exercises given in the competition. Most of these exercises have appeared in the Code Contest that the company has held before. Now they are public on Viblo Code's system.

2. Understanding a certain programming language

Viblo Code supports people to submit answers in many different languages, from C, C ++, Ruby, Python, PHP, to Java, so you can apply the knowledge about the programming language that you are using at work on the contest.

3. Knowledge of algorithms

In addition, for the hard or high scores exercises, it will require knowledge of algorithms as well. Thus, reviewing the knowledge about algorithms diligently will help you gain many advantages in the ranking race.
