Viblo CTF Contest 2020: The final result surprisingly belongs to …

The Viblo CTF Contest 2020: Capture the future has come to an end at 16:00 pm yesterday, April 26. This contest brings the Organization team and the contestants many surprises. Let's sum up a little bit with Sun* News!

Surprise comes from the number of teams involved

Sharing with Sun* News, Nguyen Anh Tien (who is directly responsible for Viblo CTF Contest 2020) said that the Organization team was very happy when the number of registered teams increased rapidly in the last days. “The teams registered were getting more at the end, many more times compared to 1 week before and twice as expected. In fact, 67 teams participated, instead of 30 teams as planned. ”

The Organization team was a bit worried at first due to a large number of teams; however, the system was well prepared so the contest went quite smoothly.

There is a new thing in the contest

There is a challenging form in the Viblo CTF Contest 2020, which is the Lab section. It is a server simulation test (all you know is the server's IP address), all the teams need to perform these steps to find flags, such as scouting, gathering information, searching for entrances, hijacking attacks. It can be said that this challenge is various from easy to difficult, so it will be a bit difficult to access for teams that are unfamiliar to. Therefore, not many teams can do this session. However, the contest went on excitingly and interestingly to the last moments.

The teams fight for the top positions

FPT_D34D is a strong team with many members who have participated in the SVATTT before. SVATTT is a very famous national information security contest for students. This team had been on top 1 for a long time (before Cr0w-CTF appeared), then unfortunately finished last. Meanwhile, when there was a hint of the organizers, Zepto Team, which is considered to be very strong, especially in the reverse engineering segment with 2 members - has risen very strongly.

Among the teams competing this year, we need to mention an abroad team named Cr0w-CTF. Despite joining 5 hours late, the team has climbed straight to the top 1 and holding this position for quite a long time before being passed by other teams.

Finally, it is _4_411 _0_0  from Team AI Research of Sun*. Although this is not their strong field, the team has fought their best for the top positions in the rankings.
