On the 5th birthday, April 3, 2020, Viblo has made official announcements about its upcoming series of events. From Viblo Code Contest, Viblo CTF Contest, to Viblo May Fest, all promises to provide the Vietnamese IT community with useful contests, so that everyone has the opportunity to learn, cultivate and improve their personal skills. Not only one but 3 events!

As announced earlier in the previous news, today, April 3, Viblo officially welcomes an important event- the 5th birthday of this service.

During 5 years of working enthusiastically, from a community that purely exchange knowledge in the field of information technology, Viblo has become a familiar platform to the Vietnamese IT community with many free products, contributing to creating a strong and friendly Viblo system. Viblo is not only an open-source system containing diverse information contributed by users from different working environments and fields, but it also gives users the opportunity to experience popular IT competitions in the world such as Code Challenge - via the Viblo Code platform, or Capture the Flag - via the Viblo CTF platform. Besides, Viblo CV, where users can create their own personal CV quickly and effectively, also attracts huge attention from users.

Therefore, many plans have been carefully prepared over the past few months to celebrate this proud milestone, with the efforts of members of the Viblo Team as well as HR members, and the Creative Group of the Design Unit. Specifically, there will not be only one, but a series of events organized on services belonging to Viblo Platform: Viblo, Viblo Code, Viblo CTF.

Facing the complicated development of the COVID-19 epidemic, these three events will be held online to ensure health and safety at the highest level for the community. Especially, the meaningful and valuable gifts for players is a way to honor positive contributions to the development of Viblo in particular and the Vietnamese IT community in general. Viblo Code Contest

Viblo Code Contest is a contest held in the form of an individual contest, taking place from 8pm on April 18 to 4pm on April 19, with the participants of all programmers and students across the country.

To win attractive prizes of the contest, players will write a program segment in any language they choose to solve the problem presented by the organizers.

Each challenge will have a maximum number of points, which will be reduced by the time of the test, as well as the number of incorrect answers by the player. Therefore, everyone will need to solve the problem as quickly as possible, in order to achieve a high score.

In addition, the time for the test is counted from the time the player starts accessing the system, and press the Start Challenge button, not the start time of the contest. Therefore, players can arrange the time to solve the test accordingly, without necessarily being present during the entire time of the contest.

Viblo CTF Contest

Viblo CTF Contest is organized in the form of a team contest, taking place from 12pm on 25/4 to 4pm on 26/4, with the participants of all programmers, and students throughout the country.
Joining Viblo CTF Contest, players will deal with a variety of tasks such as collecting information from Wikipedia or social networking sites, programming tests, and computer security challenges with many levels.
The goal of the player is to apply all coding skills, as well as knowledge in the IT field, to find the answer in each puzzle that the organizers offer. This answer is called Flag (derived from the name CTF - Capture the Flag).

The special thing in this Viblo CTF Contest is that all Puzzles will have the same points at the beginning, and this score will decrease based on the number of teams that can do that Puzzle (the more teams solve it, the smaller the points each will receive). In addition, there will be bonus points for the fastest, the runner-up, the second runner-up team that can solve each Puzzle problem, which requires the teams to have a smart strategy to win these bonus points to make a difference from others. And the specific calculation formula of a Puzzle, as well as the bonus points, will be announced at the beginning of the contest!

Viblo May Fest

Not a contest to win the first place like Viblo Code Contest or Viblo CTF Contest, Viblo May Fest wishes to give the Vietnamese IT community a real knowledge-sharing festival.

It is inspired by Hacktoberfest - an annual event organized by DigitalOcean. To celebrate the development of open source and encourage developers to contribute to open-source projects. Viblo May Fest hopes to get positively contribute to the development of Viblo from all engineers, programmers whether they are studying or researching at any level and field.

This event is fully organized throughout May. Users can participate in the event by posting knowledge sharing on Viblo, with the hashtag #MayFest. Articles with certain content and form of presentation (e.g. knowledge sharing, personal experiences, ...) related to the IT field, and must not be copied or translated as an entire article from other sources. Users who complete all 4 eligible posts will be considered as "Clear Challenge" and will receive a gift set from Viblo Team, including: 1 Viblo shirt, 1 Viblo bag and 1 Viblo sticker set.
Be careful to the requirement of Viblo May Fest because you only need to publish the post in May, not necessarily create it in May, so right now, you can prepare beforehand 4 posts in the "Draft" file, waiting until the beginning of May to "open up" so that you can easily complete the Challenge and win meaningful prizes.
