The 1st R&D Undoukai

“The more the merrier”. Nearly 80 participants including members, former members of the R&D Unit, and their family have brought a lively and exciting atmosphere for the trip right from the very first moment to Ba Vi Retreat. 

After many days of waiting, the players from all 3 teams are extremely excited to show their bravery in the sports in the hope of bringing glory to the team. This Sports Festival is as hot as the current summer weather.

Enthusiastically entering the first round of the game - relaying, all the teams were ambitious and brought out the most potential warriors to take the lead.

In this round, the audience can watch the dramatic chases. The breakthrough in the last run with a spectacular sprint from former member Nguyen Van Vu B brought the victory in this round for Yellow team of captain Nghiem Xuan Hien. The Red team was in the 2nd place and the Blue team was in the 3rd place.

When the first scores were set, the “strategists” seriously considered the situation to come up with the best strategy for the second round - Penalty kick.

The rule is even far more difficult than world cup's: 2 players from 2 different teams point their fingers to the ground and spin 10 rounds under the order of the organizers before kicking the ball 10m away from the goal.

With this rule, the uncontrolled behaviors after spinning can make it easy to mistake the ball for the opponent or even the audience. The captains must try to find the strikers who don’t have any history of vestibular disease,...

In this round, the fans scream when witnessing many air kicks and especially the knock between a 90+ weighted opponent (Bui Hoang Ky) and an opponent (Doan Bao Linh) who is only 50+. Not sure the audience screamed because of worry or excitement, but the second round ended with the rankings: Red - blue - yellow.

In Round 3 - multiplayer skipping rope, will Blue Team’s captain Nguyen Anh Tien improve the situation?

In this round, each team sends 10 members.  Each team has 3 turns, and the more people skipping at the same time the better. The game may sound easy, but actually very difficult.

After a few tries, all teams realized how difficult is this challenge. Having careful thought, Mr. Hien and Mr. Kien directed the members to take turns and score safely. But everyone was surprised with the "all or nothing" strategy of Mr. Tien and its goal "Make Green Team great again". 10 people skipped at the same time and won 2 times. However, the other teams quickly used this strategy and the Yellow team suddenly won 6 times, closing the dream of the blue team.

In this third round, the rank is: Yellow team - Blue team - Red team

The last round - Crunches was also the last chance for the Red team and Blue team when the yellow team was taking the lead.

Showing amazing strength, the players of the blue team did crunches like a machine. Especially in this game, the Blue team also found out an important factor Nguyen Quang Phu who can do... 89 crunches in 3 minutes.

The yellow team followed with the 2nd place and the red team was in 3rd place.

The R&D ended and the winner was the Yellow team as they continuously took the lead in 2 out of 4 round. The Red team was happy with its second runner-up place. Although the Blue team was in third place, they were all proud of their fighting spirit.

The Most Valuable Player (MPV) was given to Nguyen Van Vu, a former R&D member who receives much love from audiences. All the names were called out in the impressive Gala Night with the applause of the audience.

Also in this Gala, after 1 day of playing sports, the R&D Unit enjoyed a cozy dinner together. Not only are the outstanding individuals and teams at the Sports Festival, but the Unit Manager also awarded Sunners who are devoted and achieved high results in their work. This award honored by Sun* twice a year. The awarded individuals in teambuilding this time are:

Break-through Award: Phan Lý Huỳnh

Devoted Award: Ngụy Minh Tuấn

Innovator Award: Trần Ngô Quang Ngọc 

When the prestigious awards were given to their owner, it was time for the R&D members to celebrate and have fun. The banner “DRINK TO OUR HEALTH” was carefully prepared before the show. The best raps and different kinds of songs made it a very chill music night.

Mr. Tran Duc Thang - Group Leader of R&D said: “This may be the largest and most impressive teambuilding that the Culture Development Team has ever brought to all R&D members. This sports festival helps connect everyone and encourage their teamwork spirit. With the very positive feedback to the organizing team after the end of the program, there will probably be even more majestic Undoukai R&D in the future.

At the Gala Dinner in the evening, besides the amazing cooking skills of the CDT members, everyone was really impressed by a sweet and romantic proposal like a scene in a love movie, from Pham Huu Quang, an AI Research member. Who says that IT guys or AI guys are not romantic!

As a young group with an average age of about 23-24 years like R&D, hopefully, many of you will get motivated by Quang and learn many things from him to apply later"

The program ended with the sport, collective and solidarity spirit. The excitement and optimism of the trip will definitely inspire and connect R&D members to do more great things together.
