Why you should always ask "Why"

Boss: Why is the project behind schedule? 

You: Because the team couldn't keep up with it

Boss: Why can't the team keep up with it? 

You: Because the Dev team is still young! 

Boss: Why is the team young? 

You: Because the GL said the middle, senior members of the Unit has been assigned in the project already! 

Boss: Why don't you ask to borrow members from another unit? 

You: Yeah, I haven’t thought of it, let me tell them to add members to the team (bow) 

The same thing goes with work. By constantly asking the question "Why", it will help you find out the root cause of the problem and from there, you will confidently handle all problems arising in your project. 

However, asking the right question also requires a certain skill. And that is Critical Thinking. 

According to Wikipedia, critical thinking is the process of analyzing thoroughly and objectively with different views to clarify a problem. Another way to understand it is the skill of asking questions. 

Why is critical thinking necessary for IT people?
