Winner of Sun* Hackathon 2019 - Suntana the 3D virtual assistant

With a resounding success in Sun* Hackathon 2019, team RnD Overfit left a strong impression with their compelling presentation on the idea of "3D virtual assistant" called Suntana. Let's find out more about this product!

With the hope to bring a groundbreaking and impressive Digital transformation idea that goes beyond a regular software, R&D Overfit made a lively, visual and practical model of "3D virtual assistant".

Suntana, a reference to the famous Google virtual assistant (Cortana), uses Hologram technology.

The interesting point of Suntana is the use of real image and voice of a company staff, not imaginary characters like Google Assistant and Siri. Suntana is also trained to specialize tasks in Sun* as a support for office work. The product aims at automation to accelerate processes and cut down on unnecessary and repeated tasks for Sunners.

RnD Overfit presents about Suntana

In terms of special competitive advantage, team Overfit asserted: "Suntana brings a realistic experience to users, it can be personalized and specialized for certain tasks. For example: Welcome interviewees, meeting room booking...etc..."

In terms of technology, it uses AI tech like:

1. Speech to text

2. Natural Language Processing

3. DeepFake

4. Text to Speech

5. Hologram3D

The DeepFake model, one of Deep Learning's latest tech, is trained using the face of the chosen person.

The Text to Speech model is also trained using the voice of the representative to create the most identical voice.

Hologram 3D is designed for optimal display of character to users. However, due to time limit, the team focuses on the overall features, so the image of character is not as expected. There will definitely be upgrades on hologram in the future once they have gathered the diverse collection of the model's expression.

Combining individual models is also a great challenge, since there is not much time for this feature. However, the team still tried to ensure that all modules can run smoothly simultaneously in real time. Nevertheless, server solutions were taken, resulting in a magnificant demo for the judges and the participants.

The complexity of RnD Overfit 3D model

Suntana has the potential to integrate more tech in the future. Also, improving and upgrading current models will create a smart and awesome virtual assistant.

According to the orientation and the strategy of the R&D Unit, right after this competition, this project will receive investment to proceed. We hope that Suntana will soon arrive at Sun*.
